Wafra Terms of Use

Last updated: 7 August 2026

Draft — needs a lawyer and two decisions before publishing. Placeholders marked [[…]] must be filled: the legal entity that publishes the app, and the governing jurisdiction. Both change the meaning of this document, and neither should be guessed. Everything else describes how the app actually behaves today; if the app changes, this changes with it.

These terms govern your use of Wafra ("the app"), a personal money manager for Android and iOS published by Naser Khanjar ("we", "us").

By installing or using the app you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.

What the app does

Wafra records your personal money movements — expenses, income, transfers, card statements, bills and subscriptions — and presents them as balances, budgets and reports. Android can parse bank alerts on the device. On iPhone, a personal Shortcut can send alerts from bank senders you select to Wafra's privacy-minimising relay for parsing and sealed delivery back to your devices.

It is an organiser for information your bank already sent you. It is not a bank, not a payment service, and it does not connect to your bank accounts or move money. Nothing in the app is financial advice.

Accuracy, and what you should not rely on

Wafra interprets bank messages automatically. That interpretation can be wrong: a message may be misread, missed entirely, never sent by your bank, or never delivered to your phone. Amounts, balances, categories, due dates and projections shown in the app are therefore estimates for your own convenience, not a statement of account.

Always treat your bank as the authority. Do not rely on Wafra to tell you whether a payment is due or has been made. We are not responsible for a missed payment, a late fee, an overdraft or any other loss arising from information the app showed or failed to show.

Using the app

You must be 18 or older, or have consent from a parent or guardian.

There is no account, no sign-up and no password — the app works anonymously. That means we cannot identify you, cannot recover your data for you, and cannot restore anything you delete. Your data lives on your device and its safety is bound to your device. You are responsible for keeping your device secure; the in-app lock is an added layer, not a substitute.

You agree not to use the app unlawfully, interfere with its operation, or attempt to defeat its licensing or subscription controls.

Your data

Your main ledger stays in encrypted storage on your device. If you enable iPhone automatic capture, the relay transiently receives the selected alert and may hold only a sealed structured transaction until acknowledgement or expiry. Optional forwarded email, PDF import and trusted-device sharing also use the relay. What the app reads, stores and transmits is set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Backups and exports you create are files you control. Once you move one off your device, its security is in your hands, and these terms stop protecting it.

Wafra Pro, trial and billing

Some features require Wafra Pro. Every feature is free for the first 3 days after first launch. When the trial ends, Pro features require a subscription.

Subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple's App Store or Google Play, depending on your device, in the plans offered in the app (currently a monthly and a yearly plan). We never see or handle your payment details.

Store billing only functions for installs distributed by that store. A copy installed another way may not be able to purchase Pro.

Your data is never held hostage to a subscription: if Pro lapses, everything already recorded stays readable and exportable.

Availability and changes

We may change, suspend or discontinue the app or any feature. Features can also be unavailable for reasons outside the app — a permission you declined, a bank whose message format is not recognised, a device restriction, or your region.

We may update these terms. Material changes will be surfaced in the app, and the date above will change. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the updated terms.

No warranty

The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will correctly read every message from every bank.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for lost data, lost profits, or financial decisions taken on the basis of what the app displayed.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Ownership

The app, its name and its design remain ours. Bank and merchant names shown in the app belong to their owners and are used only to label your own transactions.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [[JURISDICTION]].
